Yes, I still love bubble baths. I will never consider myself to old to lavish in the soft bubbles and quiet tranquility of a good bubble bath. A tiny sweet, quiet little commodity in the loud fast world we live in. Life is busy and fast. Even living as simply as one possibly can, we still tend to get “caught up” in it, even if it is just to a small degree. Everyone needs “quiet” time. A time to unfold, relax, and clear your mind. If we don’t get that quiet time, stress build up in us, and wreaks havoc on our body.
As believers, we need the same kind of “quite time” with God. Time to go to Him in prayer, unfold, relax and clear our minds.
Let us lift up our heart with [our] hands unto God in the heavens. ~Lamentations 3:4~
In our everyday life, we are exposed to so much negativity, and evil runs rampart all around us. The enemy (satan) will look for the slightest opportunity to wreak havoc in our walk with the Lord. Much like stress does to the body, satan does to our soul. Over a period of time stress can cause the human body to deteriorate, and over a period if time, satan can deteriorate our relationship with our Lord. We end up feeling overwhelmed with life. We can not find inner peace, and often feel like we are missing something. When satan is successful at hindering our walk with the Lord he ends up being the last thing on our list of priorities, and soon ends up not being a priority at all. When the Lord ends up not being a priority in our life, it is easy to succumb to anything and everything thrown at us. It is very easy to get caught up in things we would never get caught up in. There is no clarity in our walk, it has become a very foggy walk. Everybody knows how hard it is to see in the fog, and driving in it is next to impossible. It is the same for us when things become foggy. We have a hard time finding our way. Just because we are believers, we are not immune to our life becoming foggy.
We have the great privilege of talking to our Father any time, any place, any where. He is ready, willing and able to talk with us.
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites [are]: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. ~Matthew 6:5-12~
God wants us to humbly come before Him with great humility. He wants a heartfelt, honest, humble prayer. I talk to him in a regular conversation. I always thank Him for the blessings He chooses to bestow upon me, as well as those He chooses not to, I praise Him, talk to Him, let Him know the things that bother me, share my gladness, sadness, lay my burdens at His feet, lift up others to Him, and just unfold, relax and He clears my mind. I get so relaxed, in fact, that I quite often fall asleep while I am praying (when I am praying in bed). The times I fall asleep during my prayer, I have the most peaceful sleep.
Prayer is essential to keeping a close relationship with God. All throughout the Bible He speaks of prayer.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. ~Matthew 7:7~
And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; ~Luke 18:1~
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. ~Philippians 4:6~
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; ~Colossians 4:2~
Pray without ceasing. ~1 Thessalonians 5:1~
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. ~Hebrews 4:16~
